Touched by an Alien is fun and a complete guilty pleasure for me. When I told people how much I loved the series they just kept saying, “Really, Kara!? Touched by an Alien?” And I just had to repeat myself: “YES! I don’t care if you judge me, it’s awesome!” Katherine “Kitty” Katt takes matters into her own hands when she witnesses a domestic dispute gone wrong and it gets even worse when said perpetrator grows wings and starts killing people. Kitty now finds herself fighting alongside those not from this world and one of them comes in the perfect form of Jeff Martini, an alien agent from Alpha Centauri…and it just gets better! Oh, the Spellmans. I wish this amusing PI family were real, especially Izzy because I feel like we would be best friends simply due to how we both view the world. However, where she is a mess I could keep her grounded. Perfect, right? I devoured this series pretty quickly and even though I was traumatized by book five (I’m not saying anything!) book six made up for it in a completely different way. If anything with the Spellman’s I know I’ll be entertained, but I’ve also come to understand, that just like in life, endings aren’t gift wrapped with a perfect little bow. Chris F. Holm’s Collector series introduces us to Sam Thornton, who isn’t what you would call a reaper; he’s a collector. Sent by demons to collect the souls of those who have either used their soul to barter or just need to be taken care of because they are just too horrible to live. It’s dark and witty with strong characters and each book has been incredibility interesting and different from anything I’ve read before! The third in the series is expected to come out any day now and I will most definitely be eye-guzzling the heck out of it!The Collector Series by Chris F. Holm:
