Get ready for butterflies, spiders (!), a makerspace, planetarium, and more. For the first time since COVID, the Pacific Science Center, one of Seattle’s favorite indoor spaces, is participating in the Library’s Museum Pass program!
Museum Pass offers Library cardholders free admission to 17 participating museums and cultural organizations. The Pacific Science Center is offering 10 passes per day to Library patrons, and each Pacific Science Center pass reserved through the Museum Pass admits up to two adults and six children from the same household, and up to two additional caregivers.
The passes allow free access to all the hands-on science experiences that Pacific Science Center offers, including the planetarium and the Tropical Butterfly House. The passes do not provide access to special exhibits like IMAX screenings and evening laser shows.
Patrons can visit the Museum Pass page (www.spl.org/MuseumPass) for more information about the Pacific Science Center passes, to check their availability and reserve them on a calendar. Instructions are offered in six languages beyond English: Amharic, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
More about Museum Pass
Library cardholders may reserve one free Museum Pass per week. Each Museum Pass provides admission for at least two adults, although some passes allow more and may include free admission for kids ages 17 and under.
You can sign up for a pass to a specific organization once every 30 days. New passes are available every day after 12 p.m., and passes to the Pacific Science Center are extremely popular, so set your calendar.
The program reservation system requires you to enter your Library card number and personal identification number (PIN), then choose a specific date; the pass will be emailed to you.
The Museum Pass program is sponsored by The Seattle Public Library Foundation.
Visit www.spl.org/MuseumPass to reserve passes to all 17 of our partner sites, which include Woodland Park Zoo, Seattle Art Museum, Northwest African American Museum, Seattle Aquarium, Wing Luke Museum, and other treasured Seattle destinations.
