Summer in Seattle is all about adventure and discovery: ice cream, ferry rides, tide pooling, reading outside, festivals, exploring new places … and now, Summer Quest!
This summer, the Library invites patrons of all ages to discover a brand-new version of our century-old summer reading program, starting on June 15.
Summer Quest will encourage kids, teens, and adults to “read, do, and go” all summer long, and to log their reading and activities in their Summer Quest trackers. Kids will be able to earn prizes and recognition (including books and a free ticket to PlayDate SEA!).
Don’t worry, adults and teens — there will be incentives for you, too. And adults playing Book Bingo (which launches on May 22!) can log their Book Bingo reading as part of their Summer Quest.
Summer Quest officially launches on Monday, June 15, when trackers will be available in all 27 library locations as well as online. But you can get a preview starting today at www.spl.org/SummerQuest.

As part of Summer Quest we have planned a wide range of performances and workshops with presenting artists on topics including dance, art, finance, music, writing, print making, and more. Some of the programs are live on our calendar now (magic and pet painting!), so you can start planning.
You can also check out Summer Quest reading suggestions for kids (picture books and chapter books/graphic novels), teens, and adults.
See you on June 15, and happy Summer Questing!
