3 Ways to Celebrate Pride 2026 With the Library

Happy Pride Month! We invite you to celebrate with the Library all month long, and we have a few special things planned this June and beyond.

Attend a Pride event

Calling all “Heated Rivalry” fans: On Saturday, June 13, check out this Queer Joy & Hockey program with Seattle Pride Hockey at the Northgate Branch. It will feature a discussion about hockey, and a celebration of the queer joy found in the sports romance genre from local hockey romance author and hockey player Lexi LaFleur Brown and Charlie’s Queer Books.

Pro tip: Did you know the Library has unlimited copies of “Heated Rivalry” as an e-book?

Saturday, June 13 will also feature a Pride Harp Concert with a 10-piece group that includes harpists from age 7 to 70 at the Broadview Branch.

And on Thursday, June 18, join Queer Silent Book Seattle for two hours of silent reading and community at the Central Library.

The Library (and our Bookmobile) will also be joyfully marching as part of the City of Seattle’s Pride Parade on Sunday, June 28. Join us!

Visit our LGBTQ+ Collections

Our Capitol Hill Branch has a collection of over 1,500 books focused on the past, present and future of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people.

This diverse collection includes fiction and nonfiction, graphic novels, comics, literature, poetry, and biographies, offering a global perspective on LGBTQ+ experiences and topics.  While most materials are in English, the collection also features publications in other languages.

Organized by color, it’s also beautiful. Visit the collection during Capitol Hill Branch open hours. Circulating materials can be requested through library holds.

We also provide access to a searchable database of approximately 1.5 million pages of information about LGBTQ+ history, culture and more in the United States and around the world.
