Let’s Talk About Books!

We have good news for library patrons who want to chat with others about what they’re reading — Let’s Talk About Books is happening at branches around the city! Let’s Talk About Books (LTAB) is a no-pressure book group where folks can share what they’re reading and get ideas for their next read. All are welcome and it’s a wonderful opportunity to build community around books and connect with other library lovers and staff.

No registration is required and these tend to be smaller groups, which is great for folks who appreciate a more intimate environment or want to share about multiple titles. All genres, audiences, and formats are welcome! Patrons have shared that this structure allows them to engage with a book group without feeling tethered to others’ reading preferences and exposes them to a wider range of materials for their own future reading.

To get an idea of the breadth of books read, check out the latest roundup from Green Lake’s group: Green Lake Branch Let’s Talk About Books (Oct 6, 2026).

Currently, Green Lake’s LTAB group meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 6:30-7:30 pm.

Columbia City will be hosting an LTAB on Saturday, October 24 from 2-3 pm.

Also on Saturday, October 24, Ballard will have LTAB from 3-4 pm.

Central’s LTAB is taking a brief pause for November and December, but will return in January on the second Wednesday of the month from 12-1 pm.
