Top Ten Things to Do in our Music Practice Rooms

Drumroll Please!

You’ll have to imagine you are hearing one of those amazing announcer voices reading the list below (with no apologies to any TV show):

#10 Play 1 piano 4 hand duets with a friend.
#9 Play your favorite song with different keyboard sounds.
#8 Improvise on that tune you can’t get out of your head.
#7 Rehearse for an audition.
#6 Sing in parts with a friend or two.  Heck, just sing.
#5 Practice vocal warm-ups.
#4 Play an instrument you brought with you. How about a cello or a kazoo? Actually, flute seems to be the most popular portable instrument.
#3 Try out pieces by a certain composer, e.g., Satie, Ellington.
#2 Practice before a piano lesson.

AND

#1 Sight-read popular songs easy or advanced, from the library’s collection of sheet music — it’s a huge collection, with something for everyone.

So now you’ve got ten possible musical experiences waiting for you in the Library’s Piano Rooms!  Or maybe you have a different idea.  Come down to the Central Library and set loose your inner musician!  We’ll be glad you did.
