And sure, there were a whole lot of Nooks, Kindles, iPods and phones in use, too.

But what we really want to know is: What are you reading on your commute?

  1. I’m reading Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand (by Helen Simonson) on the 312…and one of my co-workers is reading Mockingjay on the 17. 🙂

  2. I’m on page 93 of Brady Udall’s new book “The Lonely Polygamist.” while riding the 39 from Othello Station via Seward Park, via Beacon Hill with a special stop at the VA Hospital. I love this bus, and the book too.

  3. I’m reading Edith Wharton’s “The House of Mirth” (for school, of course) on the 54 and the 55.

  4. Not me, but my neighbor: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. He said he did it to tweak his wife, an English major who loves Jane Austen, but ended up really enjoying it on its own merits.

  5. I’m reading When She Flew by Jennie Shortridge for one of my book clubs. On page 124 and may stay up real late tonight with it. Commuter bus 435 from Bothell to downtown, the ride give me about 25 minutes of reading each way!

  6. I love Pride and Prejudice and Zombies! I started it thinking it would be really dumb (for lack of a better description) and it turned out to be very funny and smart. If you like Jane Austen and have a sense of humor, give it a try.

I have to drive to work, so do audiobooks count? Just finished Freedom by Jonathan Franzen and am about to start Incarceron by Catherine Fisher.

  7. Remember the news story about the Metro bus driver who was caught reading WHILE DRIVING the bus????? I wonder what he was reading…….
