Today is Give BIG Day in Seattle — and that means donations you make to any one of dozens of King County charities will go even further, thanks to the $500,000 pool of money The Seattle Foundation is spreading around to give a mid-year boost to some of your favorite organizations. And we might as well say it — you could choose The Seattle Public Library Foundation, where the money raised today, from 7 a.m. to midnight, will go toward books for The Seattle Public Library.
You can find out more about the
Library’s Foundation (and why they’re focusing specifically on books for Give Big Day) here. and you can see the list of nonprofits participating in Big Give Day here.
Speaking of books, the Library catalog subject heading for the day (we just decided) is “generosity,” where you’ll find books ranging from the adorable picture book Ivy Loves to Give by Freya Blackwood to Showing Up for Life: Thoughts on the Gifts of a Lifetime by William H. Gates.
