Summer reading: Suggestions from readers in Magnolia

On Hitler’s Mountain: Overcoming the Legacy of a Nazi Childhood by Irmgard Hunt
Amazing book told from the perspective of a child growing up under the ‘Eagle’s Nest’ in Germany during WWII. A great read for anyone who loves non-fiction.

Hotel Angeline: A Novel in 36 Voices  Take 36 local authors, give them a plot outline, two hours each to write — and invite an audience to watch. The result is an uneven but entertaining story about the people in the hotel and especially about Alexis, the girl trying to keep it all together. The novel is a wonderful tribute to Seattle and its many writers.

The Sky is Everywhere
by Jandy Nelson
A great young adult book! The writing is beautiful in prose and poetry. It made me cry more than once. A wonderful book!
