Both of my siblings are getting hitched in the next year, so I’ve got weddings on my mind! In honor of the start of the busy wedding season, I’ve pulled together a list of mostly new wedding-related romance titles. Mazel tov!
It Happened One Wedding by Julie James
Julie James’ latest features a jilted bridesmaid reluctantly falling for a best man who may end up being the best match for her. James is well-loved for her consistently witty dialogue and snarky, endearing heroines.
In Want of a Wife by Jo Goodman
Jo Goodman is a go-to author for sweet, slow-burning romance set in the American West. This time around, a rugged Wyoming rancher at the turn of the last century sends for a mail-order bride to help with his ranch. Though they seem an odd match at first, love and intimacy follow on the heels of their initially shaky nuptials.
The Marrying Kind by Ken O’Neill
This delightful story takes place in New York before the state’s legalization of same-sex marriage and centers on a columnist named Steven. Steven’s partner Adam, one of New York’s preeminent wedding planners, decides to boycott all weddings until Steven’s and his relationship can be legally recognized, a stance that is complicated by the impending marriage of their siblings. This book isn’t new, but it’s still timely and one of the best wedding-related stories from the past few years.
Otherwise Engaged by Amanda Quick
For those who are sick of weddings, this new story features a bridegroom from whom you’ll want to keep your distance! The talented and prolific Amanda Quick (aka bestselling Northwest writer Jayne Ann Krentz) returned this spring with another sharply written historical romantic suspense story in her Ladies of Lantern Street series. Amity is a world traveler who barely escapes the knife of a killer known as the Bridegroom, and must team up with a handsome spy in order to stop him. There’s a wait for this one, so be sure to get on the hold list!
