Need to escape your house? Looking for some peace and quiet? Enjoy the spring weather and get outside for a walk or bike ride.
For lovely walking in Seattle, I would suggest you get a hold of a digital copy of Seattle Walk Report. You can find a walk for every neighborhood. Some other digital titles with cool walk suggestions are Walking Seattle: 35 Tours of the Jet City’s Parks, Landmarks, Neighborhoods and Scenic Views, Seattle Stairway Walks: And Up-and-down Guide to City Neighborhoods, and Urban Trails, Seattle: Shoreline, Renton, Kent, Vashon Island.
If you’d like to escape city life altogether, here are some local hiking eBooks: Best Hikes Near Seattle, Easy Hikes Close to Home: Including Bellevue and Outlying Areas, Best Easy Day Hikes Seattle, 60 Hikes within 60 Miles Seattle: Including Bellevue, Everett and Tacoma. WARNING: these are actual hikes so be sure to take your ten essentials and check for any COVID-19-related trail closures before you go.
If you prefer two wheeled adventures, may I suggest Best Bike Rides Seattle: Great Recreational Rides in the Metro Area and Biking Puget Sound: 50 Rides from Olympia to the San Juans. Here is a link to the SDOT bike map, and here you can find other regional bike maps.
And finally, if you don’t have a Seattle Public Library card, you can sign up for an Instant Digital Card, an Overdrive service that allows patrons over the age of 13 to sign up and get immediate access to Overdrive eBooks. Visit this link and follow the prompts to authenticate using your cell phone. You can also temporarily get an ecard from the King County Library System. This ecard does have some restrictions. You can find information about the King County Library option here.
