Now Showing in Blu-ray

Beginning this fall, patrons will have an additional way to view movies, TV series and documentaries when the Library begins offering Blu-ray format for filmed media titles that are only available as a Blu-ray disc.

This means our collection of filmed media will offer access to:

DVDs continue to be the primary format, offering patrons the widest range of titles for viewing on the widest range of playback devices. If a title being added to the collection is available in multiple formats, the DVD option will be the one selected.

To make it easier to find titles in each format, we’ve updated the catalog lists for new and on order titles to reflect titles in each format.  Blu-ray only titles will also have a call number starting with BLU and a sticker on the front that shows it has a Blu-ray disc(s).

We’ve got some exciting new additions in Blu-ray format! First up, several popular series from Disney+: The Mandalorian Seasons 1 & 2, a space Western in the Star Wars universe (Baby Yoda, anyone?); Wandavision: The Complete Series, the first television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe; and Loki: Season 1the TV series featuring the titular Marvel Comics character.

Oscar-winning Nomadland, based on the book of the same name, tells the story of Fern, who, after losing her job, takes to the road in a van seeking seasonal work. In The Third Man, a pulp fiction writer lands in post-war Vienna. Enjoy the incredible drag performances in The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Finally, see the greatest works by Bruce Lee and Melvin Van Peebles in their highlight films.
