Election Resources and Accessible Voting at SPL

With less than three weeks to go before Election Day on November 5, 2024, the Library has registration events, booklists, and other informational resources to help inform you on the voting process. Don’t forget to check out this list of Election Resources on the library website for ballot box locations, lists of elected officials, and more.

On October 19th, King County Elections staff will be in the first-floor Dynix Gallery at Central Library from 12-4pm to assist with the voting process. They will have four Accessible Voting Units (AVUs) available. AVUs assist voters with visual impairments to access their ballot and Election information. Election staff will also be able to register new voters, address questions about accessibility, give information about Vote Centers and important dates, and help voters access their ballots. All are welcome to come in for assistance.

Additional upcoming voter registration events are taking place at the Library with the League of Women Voters of Seattle-King County: Magnolia Branch will be hosting a voter registration event with them on October 19th from 11-1pm, and Central Library will be hosting another voter registration event on October 23rd from 11-3pm. The League of Women Voters will be able to answer registration questions, sign up prospective voters, and register teens age 16-17 for the Future Voter program.

For new citizens, the October 21 virtual webinar Voting Information for New Citizens – Your Vote Counts will allow new citizens to ask questions about voting in their first US election. Registration for the event is required.

Finally, if you are already registered, check out these books about voting in the Seattle Public Library’s collection:
